one thing running @riordanverse-ship-polls has gotten me thinking about is that the fandom should bring back a lot of old ships that got dropped. Just to mix things up and add some more variety into the fandom again. The community used to have a lot of really interesting and really varied ships but now most of the stuff you see is canon and maybe a couple of leftover things from that time or some rarepairs and that's it (and a lot of weird aggression towards people who diverge from canon ships at all). Half the major characters don't even have prominent alternative ships to canon these days. Like, did you know Hazel/Piper used to be a decently popular ship? When was the last time you saw Hazel/Piper stuff? Probably never if you're a newer fan.

anyways we could really stand to have more variety. together we can bring back variety. the fandom needs to get weirder again. like cmon we've got some new characters let's thing of some new combos.

While i work I've been listening to an LP of the Telltale Walking Dead Games (the ones with clementine, I do not care about the others lmao). Ages ago when I played these I was well aware/amused that part of season 2 takes place in Parker's Crossroads/Parker's Run because I grew up right next to it and the detail stood out to me. But I never caught the line of "We'll head to parker's run. It's just up the road from here" until just right now. So I had a sort of "wait, where the fuck are they supposed to be right now?" stargate sg1 is so weird cause like. there's definitely definitely a moses allegory going on with teal'c. the goa'uld appropriate a lot of ancient religions, but are mostly egyptian, the jaffa are their slaves who almost certainly built the fucking pyramids, teal'c was the second in command that ran away to lead the rebel army. his weapon is a fucking staff. he might as well be shouting "let my people go."

i just watched an episode where christopher judge's real life brother played a jaffa named A'ron. also in the episode teal'c obliquely references that his son will need to be circumcised (as an adult, it's performed after marriage for some reason, but still). like this isnt just a loose "freeing your people is always about moses" thing anymore it's a clear attempt to depict space jews.

but? i've never seen this discussed anywhere? i can't find any analysis online, or who behind the scenes is responsible for this. I suspect Judge himself had a lot of input here, but i was hoping to read more about it. it just doesn't seem to be a thing people picked up on.

so one of the organizers of that flag project at the txt concert talked about it and it was mostly to clear the fact that some people were trying to diminish their efforts because they bought tickets anyway even tho bringing flags, posters and signs and qr codes for donations and etc to concerts and events is part of the boycott efforts too but that's a whole separate subject i wanna touch on this thing they said in their thread

a hybe staff approached them and asked about the flags even tho it's more than obvious the staff was aware of what was happening. they also said that the hybe asked what country that flag was from and basically acted oblivious to it but he didn't stop op or anything but he just kept watching them the whole time

i'm talking about this to underline that, yes, hybe is very aware of what we are trying to do and i honestly found this instance very insidious to me. i think they didn't actively stop anything because they knew they would get severe backlash from it but i want people to be aware of this because it does seem important

i'm actually so surprised that in the many years of Siivagunner existing, they haven't made a single Jetpack Joyride rip yet. like. there are so many stupid jokes and mashups you could make with it. they've made plenty of rips of mobile games like Angry Birds and Subway Surfers, so it's kinda shocking that there aren't any Jetpack Joyride rips considering it's one of the most recognisable mobile games ever.
